Ted's Trash Service, Inc. provides residential trash collection for the Independence and Raytown areas and strives to be efficient and reliable with friendly, hard-working employees.

Memorial Day 2024 holiday schedule


MONDAY, May 27th, 2024: We'll be closed, all routes will be delayed one day following the Holiday.

  • TUESDAY, May 28th, 2024: We will run Monday's routes.
  • WEDNESDAY, May 29th, 2024: We will run Tuesday's routes.
  • THURSDAY, May 30th, 2024: We will run Wednesday's routes.
  • FRIDAY, May 31st, 2024: We will run Thursday's routes.
  • SATURDAY, June 1st, 2024: We will run Friday's routes.


Please make sure to have your trash curbside by 6am.

  • Holidays Observed: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. If the holiday falls on a weekday, all routes are delayed one day following the holiday.

Residential Curbside Waste Removal Options


  • Household Cart Rate: $25 per month using one of our 95-gallon containers, and up to (3) 30-gallon bags weekly. Bags are not to exceed 40lbs. 
  • Any additional cart service is $25 per month per cart


  • Senior Cart Rate (65 years and up): $20 per month using one of our 65-gallon containers.


  • We require 3 months' payment in advance to start service. We can take payment with a credit card by phone, or you can come by our office Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM to set up service.


The monthly household rate is based on garbage waste only, such as paper, food waste, plastic products, and cardboard. Please contact our office the day before your pickup day if you need any large/bulk items picked up, such as furniture, construction materials, appliances, or excessive amounts of household waste 816-252-1594 ext. #2. These items must be scheduled the day before your normal pickup day with an additional special pickup charge. Please note that we do NOT schedule bulk item pickup during Holiday weeks. If you have an excessive amount of waste to be removed, please consider ordering a temporary roll-off dumpster by calling 816-252-1594 ext#3. Click on our roll-off tab for more info. Broken glass must be placed in a cardboard box that is clearly marked "broken glass." Mattresses must be wrapped in plastic for removal and called in the day before your normal pickup day.


We DO NOT empty trash from another company's container.


Yard Waste Removal Options

 (Optional Service Offered to Our Residential Customers Only)


  •  Weekly Yard Waste Pickup Option #1: $120.00 per year for up to 10 paper compost bags per week. This is NOT prorated and is a full calendar year service January- December.


  • Weekly Yard Waste Pickup / 95 Gallon Cart Option #2: To rent one of our 95-gallon yard waste containers, you must pay in advance for yearly service at $120 plus $2 per month for the cart, totaling $144 for the year with a yard waste cart. The allowance is the cart plus up to 3 paper compost bags.


  • As Needed Yard Waste Service Sticker Option #3: Our Yard Waste stickers are sold at our office or over the phone to be mailed for $1.50 each, which allows either one sticker per one bag of leaves, one bag of grass clippings, or one bundle of brush no more than 2ft in diameter and 4ft in length. This option allows for up to 10 paper compost bags per week. The yard waste sticker must be visible from the street.


  • Yard waste must be in paper compost bags or our 95-gallon container only and must not exceed 40 pounds. Plastic bags and personal containers are NOT acceptable for yard waste.

By accepting services, the customer agrees that concrete, asphalt, grass/dirt surface, water, sewer, telephone lines, gas lines, underground lines, trees, and other damage may occur due to the weight and operation of our trucks and containers in the process of operation and that Ted's Trash Service Inc. is not liable for such damage.


Equipment Responsibility: The renter is responsible for equipment from the time of possession to the time of return. The renter assumes the entire risk of loss or damage, regardless of cause. If items are lost, stolen, or damaged, the renter will assume the cost of replacement or repair, including labor costs and materials.

FAQ

The following information should answer any questions you have regarding our services:

 

  • Your refuse should be curbside by 6:00 AM the morning of your collection day. The routes can vary per day between 6am-4pm. We cannot guarantee a specific time for pickup. The routes could fluctuate from week to week based on the route size, weather, road construction, and other unforeseen circumstances. Trash, Recycling, and Yard waste trucks run through the areas at separate times throughout the scheduled pickup day.


  • Contact our office at  ext. 2 prior to your scheduled pickup day if you are in need of collection for furniture, small appliances, construction material, bulk items, or household waste over your normal weekly limit. This will be collected on your regular pickup day at an additional charge.


  • All service is curbside, and anything further is a courtesy. Ted's Trash Service Inc. is not responsible for property damage beyond the curb line.


  • Please keep trash bagged to help with loose trash blowing out and littering the community.


  • Ted's Trash Service, Inc. is not responsible for personal containers.

Ted's Residential Service Refund Policy

All refunds from services that have been paid for are subject to approval. Any work performed on any paid service will be subject to fuel and labor costs as well as material costs. To ensure a full refund or avoid any charges, please call our office a day before any service or job is to be completed. If you are unsatisfied with any services performed, please contact our office so that we may resolve the issue 816-293-3199.
